Position 1:

 

UofSC Research Computing is seeking an undergraduate to participate in a Deep Learning (DL) optimization and High Performance Computing (HPC) benchmarking project. The successful candidate will conduct work on state-of-art industry-level HPC clusters, high performance storage, and GPU accelerators. Duties will include setting up a benchmarking suite in a parallel cluster environment, building necessary libraries, writing shell scripts to build frameworks, and optimizing DL training models.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with Linux administration, Bash shell scripts, and Python
  • Basic knowledge of Deep Learning
  • Good Mathematics background in Linear Algebra, Statistics

UofSC Research Computing is seeking a student to take part in a research project involving Computer Vision and Deep Learning. The student will work closely with a diverse team of Computer Vision researchers, Information Scientists, and History researchers to analyze and optimize face detection techniques and implement computationally complex training models on High Performance Computing clusters.  This position provides an outstanding opportunity for a student to be working directly with researchers and subject matter experts on a variety of advanced topics.

CDH on-campus Student Internships

As most of you know, the Center for Digital Humanities each years seeks to hire talented young CS students or students in other majors with comparable skills for its projects. I’m writing to ask you all for referrals of students you have been particularly impressed with or have heard about. Internships are typically 10 hours per week.
