Start date: Summer 2021
Description: A research assistant position is available at the iWERS group (ce.sc.edu/iWERS) of University of South Carolina with the focus on developing web-based applications, using ArcGIS Web AppBuilder, for spatial analysis of environmental impacts from civil engineering projects.
This position can cover, considering student’s performance, either student’s hourly salary for up to 20 hours per week or full coverage of tuition + salary for one student during the academic year.
Students from all levels and disciplines are encouraged to contact Dr. Erfan Goharian about this position. However, graduate students from Engineering and computer science are preferred.
Minimum Requirements
- Computational proficiency (coding in JAVA and HTML)
- Strong background in building web apps
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Experience working with open-source modular JavaScript libraries, in particular Dojo Toolkit
- Experience working with ArcGIS Web AppBuilder
- Experience with ArcGIS
