  • Troubleshoot and resolve client’s various computer related issues

  • Check in and out various IT equipment to Housing Staff
  • Check in and out of temporary building access cards to Housing Staff
  • Troubleshoot student and staff access control issues
  • Update various software and hardware as needed
  • Answer phones as needed
  • Duties as assigned

Research Computing at UofSC Looking for Student

Research Computing at UofSC is currently searching for a student to be part of a research project involving computer vision and deep learning. The student will work closely with a diverse team of computer vision, library, and history researchers to build libraries from the outcome of text-identification from historical videos. It involves testing computationally complex deep learning model on high performance computing clusters. This position provides an outstanding opportunity for a student to be working directly with researchers and subject matter experts on a variety of advanced topics.

Summary: The research assistant will join a project that investigates whether online retailers treat consumers fairly. Within this role, you will develop, document, and maintain advanced software for automatic data collection (web-crawling). Description | Develop an online crowdsourced image database for the chronology and sorting of musical instruments of historic value. This database will host a large collection of images, and should be searchable. Images submitted go to “admin” after which they are cleared, and published on the database. Should be able to run on any device (Windows, IOS, etc.). Creation of this database, titled “Heckeldex” will serve as an educational resource for other musicians and music history students funded by the University of South Carolina in collaboration with other School of Music students.
