We typically host between 4-6 summer interns. Our internship program has evolved into a tremendous learning experience. Not only do our interns do real work, they also participate in a variety of activities that help build relationships and business knowledge. Qualifications: 2012 IT Interns must have housing and transportation. We also require a 3.0 overall GPA and a 3.3 major GPA in an IT-related field of study. After 3-6 months, the IT Associate will have opportunities to pursue a career in a variety of IT Functions. The APPocalypse

Saturday August 27, 2011 2387 Clements Ferry Rd, Charleston, SC 29492 · Teams of 1-3 people will develop randomly selected ideas for mobile applications. The ideas to choose from will have been collected from the general public, and assessed as feasible during the given time frame. · Contestants will have the choice of developing for Android, iOS, Blackberry or Windows Phone 7. Developers will need to bring their own hardware to code on over the 10 hour implementation window, but will check in their application and demo on SPARC provided devices. · A panel of five judges will choose the Overall Winning app, and the spectators will choose an Audience Favorite from the 30 completed applications. · The Overall Winning team will receive $750 cash and 2 tablets of their choice; the Audience Favorite will receive $750 cash. Telecommunications Information Systems Officer - Entry and Developmental

Telecommunications Information Systems Officers (TISOs) act as information distributors, customer representatives, and operate, maintain, install and manage telecommunications facilities. TISOs also provide project management and systems integration for voice and data communication systems, supervise installation of these systems, and provide maintenance and support to customers after installation. Specializations include voice transmission, data communications, TCP-IP networks, Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), COMSEC/TEMPEST, facsimile, cable-to-modem communication, RF (including satellite) communication capabilities, power systems, generators, digital/analog fault isolation and repair to least replaceable unit. Handling this variety of responsibilities requires good communication skills, a firm understanding of technical requirements, and an ability to work closely with other professionals.

Physical Work Requirements: Duties of TISO officers include being able to single-handedly deploy up to 45-pound communications systems and being prepared for prolonged use of destruction equipment (e.g., sledge-hammers, nail guns, disintegrators, and degaussers) and removal of equipment from racks (e.g. servers weighing up to 75 pounds).

Telecommunication Information Systems Officers will typically spend 60-70% of their career abroad on assignments that last between one to three years in length and are also required to participate in temporary travel assignments. Officers receive a variety of overseas benefits and allowances that positively impact overall compensation.


Minimum qualifications include the following: An Associate's Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering Technology, Computer Network Systems, Electronics Engineering Technology or similar degrees from an accredited technical school or university. A final GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required. Candidates with at least two years civilian or military work experience/knowledge in the telecommunications and/or automated information systems field that is comparable to one of the requisite degree fields may also qualify (example: with current computer systems, applications, networks, and hardware/software troubleshooting skills).

All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.
