Operations Manager at USC

This position will support the technical needs of all DLSS units to including the administration and support of DLSS databases as well as functioning as the department’s Webmaster and social media administrator. Additionally the position will assist faculty in the DLSS Course Production Suites with various aspects of online course production including lecture capture, creation of transcriptions and closed captioning and the editing and posting of lecture videos. Bachelor’s degree and 1 year computer operations or related experience, or associate’s degree and 3 years experience, or equivalency. Experience in database administration and web design. Experience in developing IT based solutions for an organization responsible for planning, marketing and initiating programs and services. Ability to communicate with faculty and work with limited supervision. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying policies and procedures, evaluating situations and responding appropriately. Research Assistant for Current and Prospective Students in CSE Department

The Parallel Architecture and System Software research group at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering has multiple openings for research assistantship. We are looking for motivated graduate and undergraduate students who are interested in developing innovative solutions of compiler and system software, as well as of computer architectures for parallel and high performance computing, and for emerging computing paradigm including neuromorphic computing, quantum computing, cognitive technologies such as AI architecture and applications. To conduct productive research in those areas, knowledge of C/C++ programming, data structures, compiler, computer architecture and operating system with Linux are required. Knowledge and experience of parallel programming (PThreads, OpenMP, Cilkplus, CUDA, MPI, etc) are not required, but preferred. Preference will be given to full-time Ph.D. students, thesis-option master students, and senior undergraduate students. Within the group, you will work with a motivated team to solve cutting-edge performance problem in parallel computing and you will have opportunity of exposing yourself through peer-review publications, attendance and presentation in professional conferences worldwide, and internship in industry and government labs. Graduate Research Assistant Position: Web Design and Development in the Google App Engine

Dr Vidal is looking to hire a Research Assistant to make some updates to the Wikitheoria website as part of an NSF grant jointly held with the Sociology department. The candidate must be a graduate student in the CSE department in good standing. This is a 1-year standard (20 hours/week + tuition) RA position, starting immediately. The student will be doing a lot of web design, so we will give preference to students with HCI and Web Design experience.
