Start-up Proposition

Hello Fellow USC Students, I am working on a new start-up, and we have worked out a business plan that is starting to gain some popularity. We are now attempting to get to the next level by getting a demo and/or a MVP (minimally viable product). In order to start attracting investors and gain more momentum, we are looking for an individual who be willing to do a small contract for bringing our product into visual presentation. Please see below for the skill sets we are looking for in a contract position. Our Business Project: A social media app designed for athletes, sports enthusiast, and all people who are looking to find other people to play sports. The design is based on studies and surveys we have conducted. Contact us for more information. Contract Position for Web/App Design We are looking for someone who can create sleek presentations about Websites and Apps. This individual will be an “artists” at web design or app design. At this point in time functionality is not as important as looks and flow. Please email me if you have the skills to take on this project, and email me other web and app designs that you have done. Depending on investments, we would likely hire this person on full-time later. We will negotiate pay for the project. Joseph Demke joseph.demke@gmail.com

iOS Developer Needed at Startup

I’m a senior here in the DMSB and my company has been developing an app and have outsourced the majority of the coding. However, we have some changes that need to be done. Basically we would like to change the layout and design of our UI. Everything else has been done already, and we have the source code. At this point we have limited cash, although we are currently seeking VC funds. In the meantime, we are willing to offer up some equity. Thank you for your time. Respectfully, John Lucas McEwan Chief Operating Officer A&J Innovations, LLC 703.973.2618 www.queueu.com Company email: johnlucas.mcewan@queueu.com

We would like to invite all faculty/educators and students to participate in IBM University Day on Friday, November 14, (8:30 AM - 12:40 PM) at the IBM Employee Activity and Fitness Center (EAFC) in RTP, NC. Each year, RTP CAS sponsors IBM University Day, as an opportunity to bring together the IBM NC research/development/services and local/regional academic communities. One goal is to allow the universities to inform the local IBM community of ongoing projects, new developments and opportunities for collaboration (highlighting skills and strengths, etc.) - and vice versa - hopefully helping to launch new projects. Another goal is to bring future employees (students) together with prospective employers (IBM managers and recruiters) - with a student poster as one very effective approach to advertising one's self. The event consists of three tracks: main hall presentations, parallel back room workshops and meetings, and poster sessions and tables/booths in the hallways. This fall, the theme of IBM University Day will be the "Internet of Things (IoT)". Our technical leaders will provide an overview of the challenges to and planned responses by IBM web and cloud infrastructure solutions to this rapidly growing space, along with advanced research and development around the BigData challenges associated with exploding sensor and other IoT-related data. The rest of the day's agenda will be comprised of a series of presentations on IoT-related research being performed by the faculty and researchers at several of our local universities,. Backroom workshops and tables/booths will be sponsored by several IBM university relations programs. Students will have an opportunity to meet with prospective hiring managers. Representatives from the IBM Academic Initiative will also be available to discuss its many program benefits, including the availability of most of the IBM software catalogue for use in teaching and research, absolutely free. And representatives from IBM Global University Programs (which funds university collaborations through programs like the IBM Shared University Research, Faculty Awards and PhD Fellowship programs) will also be there. Immediately after IBM University Day, we will be hosting the IBM BlueMix IoT Design Workshop in the main hall of the IBM RTP EAFC. The event is specially designed for students to provide them hands-on experience with our hosted IoT services, as part of the larger IBM BlueMix IoT Design Challenge. Students can register at http://cloudmobilechallenge.mybluemix.net and should attend the kickoff meeting on November 7. See the website for more details. Additionally, IBM Recruiting will be on hand, and we are organizing a recruiting event for students with local IBM Managers. More details will follow. Therefore, please reserve the date, and encourage your fellow faculty and students to attend. Feel free to forward this announcement to others in your department, college or university (both faculty and students). The agenda and directions are given immediately below. Contact Andy Rindos, rindos@us.ibm.com , with any questions, as well as to submit a poster or register for the event. _______________________________________ Friday, November 14 Employee Activity & Fitness Center Building 400, 3039 E. Air Force Internships

We are offering paid Spring & Summer internship opportunities to qualified students in Computer Science or with Computer Science related research interests. Regrettably this opportunity is for US citizens because of the requirements of an Air Force research program. In a number of cases, the internship will not require re-location as we have a 3D virtual research campus (Deep Horizons) that we’ve established to facilitate distance research via avatar technologies. Our Summer internships are full-time and part-time both on-site and off-site while our Spring internships are primarily part-time and do not require the students to re-locate – although we offer on-site internships – in which case, I am with the Air Force Research Laboratory, headquartered at Wright Patterson AFB, OH - and the research director for the AFRL Discovery Lab – modeled and operated as a year round research center staffed by largely undergraduate (and some grad) students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields. We offer both full time and part-time research internships in a wide spectrum of STEM fields of study but this inquiry is specifically for students in Computer Science interested in full time or part-time research in 3D virtual reality, data analytics for high performance team, mobile apps, internet of things or computer vision. Some of our internship opportunities can also be structured to be part time via our 3D virtual research campus called Deep Horizons to allow students to be part of our research program without having to re-locate. They would participate as avatars and work with team mates (and possibly some of our industry partners) across the country from their home or apartment. A part time summer internship would also give students an opportunity to participate in our research program while juggling their other summer commitments. About me: http://www.wpafb.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123336645 About Discovery Lab: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzDvUlqtnpI&feature=youtu.be I welcome your questions and would be happy to call to discuss further if that would be helpful. Thank you for your time, Dr. Rob Williams, DR-04 (“GS-15”) Research Director, Discovery Lab & DEEP HORIZONS Program Mgr, Year / Summer-at-the-Edge (YATE / SATE) Air Force Research Laboratory Wright Patterson AFB, OH
