The Department of Computer Science at Wake Forest University invites applications for a one-year visiting position to begin in July 2022. We are seeking candidates with strong interest in engaged undergraduate teaching. If funding is available, and contingent on the outcome of a first year review, a one-year extension could be possible.

Completion of a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field prior to or within 6 months of the date of hire is preferred, although candidates with an MS in Computer Science or a closely related field may be considered. The position title, Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor, will be dependent on the candidate’s terminal degree status. The expected teaching load is three courses a semester, with the primary responsibility of the post being teaching of introductory and core courses. Opportunities may also exist to teach electives related to the candidate’s area of expertise and to access departmental funding for professional development.

There are currently thirteen full-time faculty members and approximately 150 declared (junior and senior) majors and 80 declared minors within the Department. Additional information about the Department is available at: http://college.wfu.edu/cs

Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2022, with review of applications beginning immediately. Inquiries about the position or Department can be directed to Dr. William Turkett (Chair of Computer Science) at turketwh@wfu.edu.
