We are looking for a summer intern (a C++ programmer) who can help us develop a highspeed hyperspectral imaging system. Job Summary: C/C++ Software Developer/Engineer sought to work for the Quality & Safety Assessment Research Unit (QSARU) of Agricultural Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Athens, GA. The QSARU conducts research programs in the areas of measurement technologies to solve the most demanding agricultural and food quality and safety measurement problems. You will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and testing of computer software involving highspeed acquisition, process and save/display of hyperspectral images as well as the machine vision algorithm implementation. Other responsibilities will include participating in experiments for testing the imaging system and participating in the software design/development for the next generation hyperspectral imaging system. Qualifications: What you need is: - Strong programming skills with the ability to perform graphical user-interface (GUI) and multi-threaded programming using Microsoft Visual C++. - Strong communication skills Experience in machine vision technology involving real-time acquisition and display of digital videos is a big plus.
