The Simms Initiatives, a large-scale digital humanities project at USC, is seeking a part-time programmer to develop a modular extension to our asset viewer. The Simms website uses a standard LAMP stack. Experience with PHP and relational MySQL databases required. Applicants will not be considered without PHP examples or samples. We would prefer someone with jQuery (or similar), HTML4+, and CSS experience. We would like to hire someone for up to 15 hours a week for spring semester and are offering $20/hour. We are physically located in the Thomas Cooper Library. While the initial work will be done on behalf of our project exclusively, several other on-campus entities are concurrently in need of similar project solutions. So, the work you do for us could have extensions to these other departments. If you or anyone you know could be interested in this opportunity, please contact Todd Hagstette at tclsimms@mailbox.sc.edu. We would like to get things started immediately. In the meantime, you can see our site at http://simms.library.sc.edu. Thanks.
