External Links

External links link between one document and another. I will show you two very similar types of external links: to a file and to an external website.

External Links to Other Websites

This will produce the text "Go to Lipsum" on the page and will look like any other link. If you click on it it will take you to www.lipsum.org.
Important: you must include the protocol ("http://") or it will look for a file named "www.lipsum.org", which would almost certainly be wrong.

External Links to Local Files

If you want to open another file on the same computer as the website (or computer) as the file you're writing you can access it by its relative path from the file you're working on to the file you're linking to. The above links from test.html to lipsum.html in the same page.
