The goals of this course, adapted from the departmental syllabus, are:
- To introduce the student to the data structures and algorithms that
will be met in advanced courses in computer science.
- To introduce the student to abstraction as a tool for representing
problems and problem solving.
- To introduce the student to algorithmic analysis as an essential part
of problem solving.
- To introduce the student to the formal analysis of algorithms.
