Other courses may also be acceptable. Honors students are encouraged to take SCCC courses that are cross-listed with appropriate Liberal Arts courses. Other SCCC courses may also be acceptable and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

If you are interested in using some other course as a Liberal Arts elective, first discuss it with your advisor and then submit a Request for Course Substitution form.

Remember that a class cannot be used to satisfy both a CS/CIS Carolina Core requirement and the Liberal Arts requirements. That is, you cannot double-count a class as satisfying both a Carolina Core requirement and the Liberal Arts requirement.

CIS majors cannot count ECON 221, 222, 224, 311, 379 as Liberal Arts since those courses count towards the BIM minor and courses cannot be double-counted for both the BIN minor and the Liberal Arts requirement.
