CSCE 145 Programming Proficiency Survey

Welcome to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. We are excited about you joining us in the fall and would like to tell you about some resources that we have developed for our first course, CSCE 145. Please enter an email address that you will read during the next week, so that we can send you this information.

Please help us help you by filling out the short survey at http://www.cse.sc.edu/form/145-survey .

This survey helps our department better understand the level of expertise of our incoming students so that we can continually improve CSCE 145.

On the survey if you don't think you know the answer to a question, please answer "I don't know" rather than trying to guess.

Q1.

int a = 10;
int b = 2*a+1;
System.out.print(b);

Q2

int a = 10;
double b = 15.0;
double c = a*2+b%4;
System.out.println(c);

Q3

double a = 19.5;
if(a > 11){
    System.out.print("Yes");
}
else{
    System.out.println("No");
}

Q4.

int a = 12;
int b = 2;
int c = 7;

if (a == b){
    System.out.print("A");
}
else if (b<=c) {
    System.out.print("B");
}
else if (a > c){
    System.out.print("C");
}

if (c%2 == 1){
    System.out.print("D");
}
else if (a+b < c) {
    System.out.print("E");
}
else {
    System.out.print("F");
}

Q5.

double a = 5;
int b = 0;
while (b < 5) {
    System.out.print("$");
    b++;
}

Q6.

for (int i=0 ; i < 10 ; i +=2) {
    int j = i;
    while ( j > 0){
        System.out.print( j );
        j--;
    }
    System.out.print(" ");
}

Q7.

int[] a = new int[11];
for (int i=10; i >= 0 ;i--) {
    a[i] = i*2;
}
for (int i=0; i < a.length ; i += 3 ) {
