Open-Rank, Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in the Department of Data Science at the University of Mississippi Medical Center

The Department of Data Science at the University of Mississippi Medical Center invites applications for two open-rank tenure-track (12-month) faculty positions to be filled immediately. Candidates must have a PhD or DSc degree in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, or a related field from an accredited institution. Faculty members are expected to teach one to two graduate courses per year, supervise graduate students (in-person Ph.D. and MS programs in biostatistics & data science), conduct independent and collaborative research, and contribute to the service missions of the department, school, institution, and profession.

Opportunities are available to collaborate with clinical, basic science, and translational science researchers from seven schools on campus, multiple centers, and two well-renowned cohort studies (the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities Study and Jackson Heart Study). ACCESS Energy Storage Internship - for students interested in energy storage projects at Argonne. Students are paid hourly. Appointments can be part-time during academic year and full-time in summer. Students receive a stipend and can receive on-site housing at no cost to them for the term. SIP is the Argonne-funded version of the DOE SULI program - i.e. we model this program after SULI.

For Graduate Students

National School on Neutron and X-ray Scattering - A 2-week summer training program for PhD students to learn about neutron and x-ray characterization techniques at Argonne and Oak Ridge National Lab. Usually 2nd or 3rd year students that would benefit from using these characterization techniques for these work will be selected. Applications open now through mid-March.

DOE Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program - A program for students to receive a supplement award to support their research between their university PI and national lab researcher. There are two solicitation periods - the first for 2024 will begin on 2/8/2024. A competitive but great program for PhD students to work at a national lab to support their these work from 3-12 months.

Two Positions at Wake Forest University

The Department of Computer Science at Wake Forest University is seeking applications for two open positions to begin July 2024: one tenure-track Assistant Professor position and one non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor or Assistant Professor of the Practice position.

For the tenure track position, successful candidates should have a demonstrated potential to develop a visible, externally funded research program within a setting that values high-quality teaching and mentorship of both undergraduate and graduate students. The Department is seeking exceptional candidates with teaching competency in Software Engineering and/or Algorithms. Computer Science Position Opportunity at Spartanburg Methodist College

We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our team as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year. The primary responsibilities will be teaching and service to the college. The instructional load for this position could include courses such as Introduction to Computer Science Technology, Introduction to Computer Science and Programming, Digital Design for the Web, and perhaps other computer science subjects. The standard teaching load for this position is eight courses per academic year: four courses in the fall semester and four courses in the spring semester.
